Preparing Your House

What does it truly mean to build a life that can withstand the storms that inevitably come our way? In this powerful message drawn from Matthew 7:24-27, we are challenged to examine the very foundation upon which we have constructed our lives, our families, and our faith. Jesus presents two builders, two houses, and one storm, and the difference between those who stand and those who fall is not the intensity of the trial but the strength of what lies beneath. Through the familiar parable of the wise and foolish builders, we are reminded that hearing the Word is never enough on its own. It is the doing, the living, the applying of God's Word that transforms us from hearers into builders. The message calls us to honest self-examination: are we building on the solid rock of Christ, or have we been relying on self-sufficiency, pride, or religious routine that looks strong on the outside but lacks a true foundation? This is not a message of condemnation but of invitation, urging us to dig deep, lay our lives on the bedrock of Scripture, and trust that what God builds in us cannot be easily shaken.
