Singing and Shouting
What does it truly mean to praise God, and why does it matter so deeply to our everyday lives? This message takes us on a journey through the Psalms, where we discover that praise is far more than a musical genre or a Sunday morning routine. It is a lifestyle, a declaration, and a pathway to joy. Drawing from Psalms 92, 95, 96, 98, and 100, we are reminded that the call to sing, shout, and worship is woven throughout Scripture more than seventy times, and for good reason. The psalmists were not writing poetry for its own sake. They were describing a living, breathing relationship with a God who is good, whose love is unfailing, and whose faithfulness extends to every generation. We are challenged to ask ourselves an honest question: when we walk through the doors of worship, are we genuinely coming with gladness and thanksgiving, or are we simply going through the motions? The message calls us to lay aside the weight of our circumstances and fix our eyes on who God is rather than what we are facing. When we do that, something shifts. Atmospheres change. Strongholds weaken. And the joy of the Lord, which is our strength, begins to rise up from within us as a force that carries us through every storm.
